Epsom :: Hotel Bar & Coffee Station

We were approached to make this bespoke bar area for a hotel by Woodcote Projects in Epsom. The Denham Grove is a 4 star hotel resort in Uxbridge, with some beautifully designed interiors, so we really enjoyed the challenge of making something that looks very striking, whilst also being durable enough to withstand the ever present hotel guests.

Epsom - Hotel Bar & Coffee Station

The commission consisted of a front bar area, back bar units with sliding doors, shelving displays and exterior windows. We also made a bespoke coffee station in a shaker style with door in frame, the doors and frames were made of Tulip wood and hung on butt hinges. The drawers were made of solid oak and sit on Blum soft close runners to give years of seamless use.

On the bar we used a variety of materials including moisture resistant MDF for durability, solid walnut for the bar flap, glass shelves, siltstone tops and a very large mirror with sockets cut out, making for one of the scariest mirror installs we have had. We were asked to ensure the moulding on the bar matched the existing panelling throughout the hotel. This meant we had to make bespoke moulding for this particular job, matching in both shape and proportions.  The units were spray finished in our workshop with a polyurethane lacquer. The finish was needed for every area of the hotel furniture, so it can take the inevitable wear and tear.
