WorkShop Open Day for Moorfield Eye Hospital
/In July we held an open day at our workshop! The idea being, to promote how we work as bespoke furniture makers, as it appears to be quite enigmatic.
We wanted to say ‘HEY WE MAKE FURNITURE FROM SCRATCH TO YOUR REQUIREMENTS’, while also raising some money for a charity that is really close to our heart!
Without the help of Moorfield Eye Hospital, Matthew may not have chosen the path he did! That being the world of furniture.
Matthew has a passion for what he does and over the years has acquired a team of people that have the same love for making furniture as he does!
We thought that a great way to show our appreciation for what Moorfield Eye Charity do, on a daily basis, was to raise some money to help them in their never-ending quest. So, we held an open day! To show everyone how we operate, we held a raffle with wonderful bespoke MRC prizes, including an Oak hall table, a stunning chopping board and lots of walnut coasters!! Needless to say, it went down very well! We raised over £250 in a few hours.
We invited some of our returning customers, who in turn bought along some NEW customers, which is wonderfully encouraging and hopefully portrays that we are a trustworthy company that truly believe in what we are making and supplying.
We have vowed every year to carry out some kind of event to raise money for a charity that means something to us as a business, so watch this space…….will we jump out of a plane, climb Everest, grow out our (usually) short hair styles or cycle the south downs in a couple of days?!
Exciting times ahead for Matthew Roberts Cabinet Makers and we revel in the challenge of not only taking on some seemingly impossible tasks but also in creating some beautiful handmade furniture for our customers!
