This week Matthew has started making some bespoke garage doors for a customer in Borde Hill, mid-Sussex. They are to match existing garage doors. The ones we are replacing have been there for over 100 years, so we have sourced some quality Utile to make them from in the hope that our doors will last even longer!

We are currently in the middle of a very nice restaurant fit out, working alongside Threshold Interiors again. This job has been taking up most of the workshop over the last month but we have finally started the fitting. As with any project such as this we have to be flexible with our timings as so many other trades are involved.

This Week in the Workshop 4 Pieces to Finish

Tony has been making a wardrobe with oak veneered carcassing and doors with quite an interesting handle and mirror combination. The unit has staggered drawers and pull down rails to maximise the space and fit exactly with the clients needs. For the same room we are making a large matching AV unit with fold down desk and sliding doors on the bottom. Once finished it will all be sprayed in Farrow and Ball ‘all white’.

This Week in the Workshop - bespoke kitchens

This week we finished off our first bespoke kitchen as Matthew Roberts Carpentry, although in past workshops we have made many handmade kitchens, this was the first designed by us alone.

This was the second job for this customer, the first being a set of exterior double doors. The property is at the top of Brighton overlooking the town in a lovely Victorian house. The client wanted something timeless but with slight nods to its heritage.

New Year, new projects!

New Year, new projects!

Well last year was definitely our most definitive and successful yet! It brought along big changes for us! Moving workshops in the middle of the year was hard work and a lot of man hours but was most definitely worth it! It has enabled us to grow a little more. We had so much space, that we were able to install a spray booth and can now include this within our services, Matthew would now like an even BIGGER workshop!
